Established in 1981, JOTZ productions is renowned for award-winning documentary films that resonate socially and historically.
From 1995 to 2020 the company has worked assisting filmmakers in the development, financing, production and marketing of their projects, as well as making their own projects. Its Sydney offices are located in Leichhardt.
Tom Zubrycki is a director and producer of feature documentaries. His 16 films have mapped Australia’s changing social and political landscape, including THE DIPLOMAT and THE HUNGRY TIDE. Tom also mentors and produces the work of emerging filmmakers.
Julia Overton executive produces documentaries for broadcast and theatrical release - namely RED OBSESSION, THE LAST IMPRESARIO and THE NAMATJIRA PROJECT. Julia travels regularly to international festival and markets where she often teaches and mentors developing filmmakers.
In 2019 Sam Zubrycki completed his first feature MIGUELITO, which was awarded best documentary at the Antenna Documentary Film Festival 2019, and also picked up Best Documentary at Oaxaca Film Fest, Mexico. It had its’s World Premiere at FICCI, Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena, Colombia.
